Two more anthrax cases in US

washington: two more cases of anthrax came to light in the us on tuesday. one of the patients is a seven-month-old baby and the other a 73-year-old mail room employee at the florida publishing firm, where a man died of anthrax earlier. this brings the number of infected people to four, while the total number of the people exposed to the disease is 12.the baby, child of an abc news employee, who had been inside the abc office, has contracted cutaneous, or skin anthrax. he, however, is responding well to treatment, said new york mayor rudolph guiliani at a news conference. the other victim, ernesto blanco, tested positive for the inhaled form of anthrax — which killed his colleague, bob stevens, a photo editor at the sun published by american media inc. in boca raton. investigators found minuscule amounts of the bacteria's spores at the main post office in boca raton. presence of anthrax in new york and nevada has been confirmed. in washington, the capitol & galleries were closed and mail to congress suspended indefinitely. meanwhile, in london, amid growing fears of anthrax attacks, 12 employees of the london stock exchange were hospitalised, late tuesday, as a precautionary measure after a delivery of a suspect package to the exchange.(agencies)
